The Good Places

Helping you find the good places. The cafés, restaurants, bookshops, bakeries and corners of London I keep going back to, plus the occasional trip out of the city, from Oxford to Kyoto.

What you’ll get

Guides. A neighbourhood, a day, a weekend away: where to start, where to eat, what to see and in what order.

3 good places. Three places, one category, and what each one is actually good for. Three bakeries, three bookshops, three places to work from.

The London map. Only my absolute favourites make it onto the map. Free, and linked in the menu.

Who’s writing this

I’m Sarah, a Franco-British freelance creator and social media manager. I grew up in the south of France and moved to London in 2016, chasing a bigger, more creative life.

But for years, fear made most of my choices for me. I said no to almost everything. I once turned down a free trip to Greece because I couldn’t get on the plane, and by 2021 I couldn’t leave the house without someone next to me, not even for the shop next door.

Getting better looked a lot like sitting in cafés on my own until it stopped being frightening. Then trains. Then a fourteen hour flight to Japan.

Now I get to go to all the places I spent so long missing out on, and I don’t take a single one for granted.

I share all of this on Instagram too, where I’m usually out somewhere in London.
